Becky and Matt

There’s been a couple of new faces in the Fluid studio since the turn of the year, and it’s time to introduce them.

Becky L is part of our Campaigns & Content (Artwork) team, and she’s already been getting stuck into briefs for the Russell Group, VetsNow and Coach Hire Comparison, flexing her versatile skill set with everything from social media creative to print design to animation work.

And what better way to get to know Becky than to give her a friendly grilling….

What’s your favourite thing about the Fluid culture?
The support and the focus on wellbeing. It’s great to work for a company that genuinely cares about its people and gives you a real sense of accomplishment. Everyone is really dedicated to creating a positive, supportive environment, which makes you feel valued and trusted.

What is your dream client?
It would be interesting to work with a client in the sports industry. I love seeing the energy and playfulness of the branding especially through the motion graphics used on different platforms. With such a large audience seeing the creative every single day, I think it would be a really rewarding type of client to work with.

Who would be your dream dinner party guests?
This is a tough one, but I’d be lying if I didn’t say I’d love to meet Harry Styles, so he’d definitely need to be on the guest list. I’m a huge fan of Florence Pugh too, so she’d have to be invited – plus, it’s a bonus that she seems like a fantastic cook! Maybe I’d also invite David Attenborough as well, because who doesn’t want to meet him?!

What album are you most likely to sneak onto the Sonos in the studio?
Any album from Sam Fender, The 1975 or Sea Girls. I’ve also been enjoying Sabrina Carpenter’s songs lately when they play in the studio... though I’m not sure if my future self will still agree with that!

Give us a fun fact…
I once decided to hike up Arthur’s Seat in Edinburgh, not realising there was a weather warning in place. The winds were crazy! But the best part? People were still up there taking wedding photos!

Another fresh face in the studio is Matt B, who is part of our Performance & Innovation team. When he’s not obsessing over paid media advertising for our clients Coach Hire Comparison, The National Forest Adventure Farm and The Cambridge Building Society, he can often be found on the gig circuit…

What’s been the most memorable brief you’ve worked on at Fluid so far (and why)?
I’d have to say it’s the National Forest Adventure Farm. They are so trusting of the work we do, and they give us ownership to experiment and test a variety of different fun and creative things, and that approach always leads to amazing results. The client relationship is great, and the work we do together is always collaborative and exciting. It’s also made a lot better by the animals of course.

What’s your favourite thing about the Fluid culture?
Fluid’s culture is so warm, it always feel like you’re in it together. Everybody does everything they can to support one another, and that’s a truly amazing thing. And (controversially in the agency world), I think it’s quite unique.

Who would be your dream dinner party guests?
Extensive list: Grian Chatten, Charles Bukowski, Miles Davis, Jim Morrison, John Fante, Friedrich Nietzsche, Carl Jung and my Grandad.

What is your idea of a perfect weekend?
It would start off by a gig with the band. Friday night gigs are always an amazing way to start the weekend, then a day out on Saturday to Manchester or Birmingham (somewhere with life and vibrancy), followed by a chilled Sunday walking in the woods with my partner and the dogs (or a nice movie day).

Give us a fun fact...
I once sold a a poem I wrote in an art exhibition to a young couple who were re-decorating their house. I’m also the lead singer of a band called Genius Of The Crowd.
